_______________ A people without the knowledge of its history, origin and past culture is like a tree without roots. We are not Africans because we are born in Africa, we are Africans because Africa was born in us. The power of a people is measured by the celebration of their culture. But how can we celebrate this culture that has been spread throughout our existence in a wrong way, whose stories have been told thousands of times in a distorted way? Good according to research the word "celebrate" comes from the Latin "celebro" which in turn means to watch in large numbers and solemnly feast. Culture according to the dictionary refers to any complex that includes knowledge, art, beliefs, law, morals, customs and all the habits and aptitudes acquired by the human being not only in the family, but also to do part of a company of which he is a member. With these definitions in mind we can say that the best way to celebrate a culture is by the act or means of preserving, increasing or utilizing its knowledge, arts, beliefs, laws, morals, customs and habits. Among the proposals of the ideology of Pan-Africanism we find also the rescue of religious practices, such as worship of the ancestors and encouragement of the use of native languages previously forbidden by the colonizers. Thank God today we have learned that Africa has many more stories than those told by its settlers. It is more than likely that our human history began in Africa, regardless of whether we are Europeans, Asians, Americans or from Oceania. More recent scientific research points to the fact that all humans are likely to have African ancestors. That's why my heart is glad to see a non-African person (white or black) making use of African arts, clothes, accessories and customs. For this is how a culture is celebrated. Pan-Africanism is the name given to an ideology that believes in the union of the peoples of all the countries of the African continent in the fight against racial prejudice and social problems, and a simple way in which we can participate in this struggle is without a doubt by the celebration of this rich culture that belongs to us all.
